[...] Knotty Ash [...] a jolly stage-setting of taverns with farm-carts before them, of tiny, twinkling pinafores pouring out of a village school, of a neat spire [...] rising above a grove of realistic trees . Knotty Ash in Liverpool (1907) by Dixon Scott
About this site
This site is about bringing together the history of Knotty Ash - in particular the history of St John's CE School, Knotty Ash Infant and Junior Schools, & St John the Evangelist Church, Knotty Ash.
This website is a labour of love based on the wish to preserve our heritage - through old photographs, memories and history.
As this collection of photographs and memories has grown, we have been asked to provide them for people to see across the world - as many who originally came from the area have now moved to further shores.
We also realise that these may be of interest to family historians around the world looking to find out more about the schools their ancestors went to.
THIS SITE IS BEING CONSTANTLY UPDATED!
As well as pictures from our own collection I would be happy to add anyone else's pictures if they would like to contribute to the site. Each picture will be acknowledged.
If you have any pictures to offer or if you have any questions or comments about the site please email me at : [email protected]
